Beginners Setup Guide
Preparation
System Requirements
Minimum system requirements are 2 vCPUs, 4GB of memory, and 40GB of disk space. However, these are just minimum requirements.
It is recommended to scale up for higher workloads and add additional disk space if you are going to receive and send higher volumes of mail.
Monitoring of your EFA is important to ensure that adequate resources are available.
Deploying
There are currently 3 options to deploy E.F.A., deploying on of the VM image is the most common way to start with E.F.A.
If you don't have the option to deploy an Virtual Image (on some VPS hosters for example) you can build E.F.A. using the build scripts.
1) Visit http://efa-project.org/download/ to download your E.F.A. VM for your hypervisor. 2) Import the appliance into your hypervisor.
(VMWare 5.x or newer)
Extract the zip
(Hyper-V 2012)
Extract the zip
3) Power on the virtual machine
4) Follow the console prompts to configure your E.F.A.
5) After you configure E.F.A. and it reboots, it is recommended that you run an update.
sudo /usr/local/sbin/EFA-Update -update
